Cassie says her twin 3-year-old sons can act so out of control she hasn’t taken them out in public in four months. She says the boys, who were diagnosed with ADHD in October 2022, rip things off store shelves, scream, throw things, have fits of rage, and have even punched, slapped and pinched her.

“We’ve exhausted all options of discipline,” Cassie says. “They were put on Ritalin in January 2023. We wanted the doctors to give us alternatives to medications, but this is all we were given, and it barely helps.”

In the video above, Cassie and her boyfriend, the twins’ father, share more about the boys’ concerning behavior, including once staying awake for 72 hours and why Cassie says that was her “breaking point.”

On Tuesday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “Kids and ADHD Meds: Too Much Too Soon?” hear what happened at the doctor’s office when the boys were told “no.” And, Dr. Phil, along with Dr. Daniel Amen and Dr. Charles Sophy, discuss whether children are overdiagnosed and overmedicated for ADD and ADHD.
