‘My Parents Have Made Me The Way I Am,’ Claims Self-Described ‘Rebel’

          October 10, 2017

At 16, Dakota says she’s been in trouble with the law since she was in the eighth grade. She also admits to hitting her mother and destroying property at their home.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Chaos in your life?

Currently facing misdemeanor charges for drug and alcohol possession, the teen says she smokes marijuana every day, to help with her anxiety and depression. She also says she skips school and does what she wants – when she wants.

Dakota says she has no respect for authority. “I’m not sorry for the way I behave. My parents have made me the way I am,” she says.

“When I was growing up, both of my parents were drug addicts,” claims Dakota. She says her mother, Cydney, and father, John, never taught her right from wrong; that they were seldom around, and she was often left in the care of her grandmother.

Do Cydney and John take responsibility for their daughter’s behavior?
