Penny says she is ready to leave her husband of seven years, Glen. She claims Glen is controlling, verbally abusive, a liar and a “narcissistic sociopath.” Penny also claims that Glen has been abusive with their 4-year-old daughter, a claim Glen vehemently denies.

“One definition of abuse is failure of a parent to keep a child out of harm’s way,” Dr. Phil informs Penny. “If you have a child exposed to someone who you believe is a danger to them, can get physical with them, can do harm to them mentally, emotionally, physically or through negligence or in any way constitute a problem with them, and you fail to remove that child from that situation, that’s negligence on your part, and you’re guilty of abuse.”
