Parents Claim Unemployed 23-Year-Old Son Is ‘Moocher’ Who ‘Bullies’ Them To Get What He Wants

          January 27, 2017

“My son Justin is totally spoiled, basically mooching off of us in every possible way,” says Krissie of her unemployed 23-year-old child.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Parent of an entitled 20-something-year-old?

“He is an unmotivated, very lazy individual and would rather be smoking weed,” adds Randy, Krissie’s husband and Justin’s father. “Justin has no job right now; he doesn’t really feel like he should work for a living.”

Justin, his pregnant girlfriend and their 18-month-old daughter live in Krissie’s and Randy’s home rent-free. Krissie and Randy say they don’t help around the house, have piles of laundry everywhere and leave old food laying around. The parents also claim that Justin has stolen thousands of dollars from them, along with coins, microphones, iPods, watches and jewelry.

“I get so nervous, I actually take my handbag in the shower with me,” Krissie says. “I want to kick him out, but he has a baby and now, he has another baby that’s coming. I feel like we’re between a rock and a hard place.

Justin admits he has stolen from his parents but says they are to blame for the person he’s become.

Watch more of their story in the video above from Wednesday's episode of Dr. Phil, including what a typical day is like for Justin. On Wednesday’s episode, hear why Dr. Phil says the parents are contributing to Justin’s behavior. And, hear why Justin blames his parents for his behavior. Check here to see where you can watch.
