The first time Darbi ran away from home, her mother, Janice, says she was 15 and ended up the victim of sex trafficking. When she disappeared again a year later, Janice says the one piece of evidence she found indicating where her daughter might be, was an email sent by Darbi to a “mysterious man” on the very day she went missing.

“Especially with her age - being at risk - it is a very dangerous situation for her to be in,” says Michael Arimboanga the police detective who found Darbi in 2015. He has again been called on to help track down the teenager.
