Psychiatrist Says Teen Vaping Is A ‘Huge Deal’ That’s ‘Happening Right Under Parents’ Noses’
Teens everywhere are getting hooked on vaping, and parents are at a loss about how to combat the crisis. Renowned psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy has helped many families with this problem and has written about it in his best-selling book, “Family Values: Reset Trust, Boundaries, and Connection with Your Child.”
“It’s a huge deal, and it’s happening right under parents’ noses,” says Dr. Sophy. “They don’t smell it; they don’t see it. They don’t even see it sometimes until their (child’s) schoolwork is falling apart, or they’re isolated, or their kids are totally different people.”
This episode of Dr. Phil, “Flavor Chasing: The Teen Vaping Crisis,” airs Thursday.
And later, hear from Connor, who admits he started vaping because of peer pressure but has continued the habit for an entirely different reason.
