Pepper and her husband of 42 years, Pearson, have recently been living in self-quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic. They say the stress of the situation has created tension in their marriage – with Pepper even considering divorce.

Pepper claims that Pearson is not taking the situation seriously enough, while he says that his wife is being too controlling. Pepper admits that she likes being in control and says she wants to know how to balance her need for control and controlling the situation.
“This is probably one of the times I believe that you should be a controller,” Robin McGraw tells Pepper on Monday’s episode of Dr. Phil. “Celebrate being a controller and being in control of your environment, of your health and the health of your husband.”
