Elizabeth claims that while she was growing up, she and her two sisters were sexually molested by a family member. She recalls that her sister, Louise, who is eight years older, was protective of her from the abuse while she was in the home.

“The person that abused us, when we would come in contact with this person, she would push me out of the way if they asked for a hug or anything, and she would always block me and him,” Elizabeth says. “I remember when there were fights in the home between my parents, she would bury my face in her chest and cover my ears … I always thought she’d be the perfect mom.”

That’s why Elizabeth says she was “shocked” when she learned Louise and her husband, David Turpin, were arrested and charged with 37 felony counts of torture, false imprisonment and child abuse. The couple allegedly starved, tortured and chained their 13 kids to their beds in what some are calling the “California House of Horrors.”
