Noelle’s mother, Larissa, and stepfather, Shaun, claim that she is an out-of-control teenager who is verbally abusive, has been caught with drugs at home, alcohol at school, and once wrecked her mom’s car. She says she had been to several psychiatrists and multiple therapists before finding Shannon.

Shaun says, “I just don’t see Shannon as a help. I see her as more of a best friend that can help calm Noelle down.”

“It’s not solving long-term things,” says Larissa.
