When Terrill Swift was 17, he claims Chicago police officers lied to him during an interrogation and accused him and three other young men of raping and murdering a 30-year-old prostitute. Swift, who was in high school and had never been in trouble, says he was questioned by police for over 12 hours.

“I was crying, but no one listened,” says Swift, adding that he asked for his mother and a lawyer but didn’t receive either.

In the video above, hear how Swift claims he was coerced into a false confession and how he ended up in prison for more than a decade.
