Did you know that adults age 65 and older are 10 times more likely than those aged 18-49 to be hospitalized with pneumococcal pneumonia? Yet, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), a large percentage of this vulnerable age group remains unvaccinated.
Pfizer initiated the All About Your Boom campaign to educate baby boomers about serious health issues like pneumococcal pneumonia and other diseases, which put them at risk.
“We think it’s really important to help dispel some of the myths that older people may hold about vaccines,” says Pfizer’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Freda Lewis-Hall.
In the video above, she and former NFL Quarterback and sports analyst, Terry Bradshaw, who is the All About Your Boom spokesperson, discuss the importance of adult vaccines as the best defense against serious diseases like pneumococcal pneumonia.
“You have to stay on top of your health,” asserts Bradshaw, who says he makes regular visits to his doctor.
