The Aspire Initiative: A Resource To Help Victims Identify, Define Abuse

          March 23, 2016

After dating for three years, Cory says he no longer respects or trusts his girlfriend Elizabeth, and he says their relationship is over.

Yet, Elizabeth is still asking what she can do to help save their relationship.

In the video above, Dr. Phil offers a wake-up call for Elizabeth, who claimed that Cory had been verbally abusive, as well as physically abusive toward her in the past, a claim Cory denies. He also offers her a powerful resource for anyone who may be caught in an abusive relationship of any kind.

Dr. Phil suggests Elizabeth utilize The Aspire Initiative, created by his wife Robin and her foundation When Georgia Smiled, to help her move forward, and to help her avoid and identify red flags of potential abuse of any kind in her future relationships.

“It’s a program that my wife has developed that has to do with relationships and defines different kinds of abuse, because abuse is not just physical. So you don’t get in a relationship going forward and miss red flags that have to do with control, and emotion, and communication and all of that,” Dr. Phil explains.
