Everybody wants to look their best, but it’s important to realize that there is no perfection and striving to achieve it will leave you empty.

“You can strive for excellence, you can strive to improve,” Dr. Phil says. “If you say, ‘I can’t focus on other things because I’m looking for perfection here,’ it just gives you an excuse to not participate in the rest of your life.”

Instead, Dr. Phil suggests filling yourself up by giving away what you want the most.

“If you want to feel loved, if you want to feel a sense of belonging, go make others feel loved, make them feel like they belong somewhere,” he says.
