Dr. Phil says that if someone is caught in their delusions, it can be hard to remove them from that thought process.
TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Life in crisis?
“You would be surprised how common some of these beliefs are that people hold where they think they have some unique skill or ability … and it interferes with their functioning, and, it turns into a delusion,” he says. “When they get into a delusional system that’s really well constructed, then it’s very hard to penetrate the delusional system, which means it’s very hard for them to escape the delusional system. And so they’re kind of lost in the dark.”
