“There’s no question that if someone is suffering from mental illness, that can contribute to the choices they’re making in their life,” Dr. Phil says. “But we make a real mistake if we ever fail to require of someone the absolute most that they can do.”TELL DR. He says that no matter what a person’s disability is – mental or physical – they need to do everything they are capable of doing. “It’s an insult to their life and their spirit if we don’t do that,” he continues.
