It’s at that point, where you must reach for outside help, and Dr. Phil says there’s one main criteria to look for in a therapist.
“If you are looking for a therapist, there’s one question you want to ask every one: ‘Do you adhere to evidence-based therapies?’ Because those are therapies that are empirically demonstrated to be useful,” Dr. Phil explains. "Everything we do on this show is grounded in an evidence-based therapy.”
