          Transgender Teen Confronts Mom Who She Says Doesn’t Support Her

          Sheila admits that when she learned that her then 15-year-old identifies as transgender and wanted to transition to female, she was angry. She says that two years later, she continues to have a hard time accepting her as a daughter and won’t refer to her with female pronouns, has thrown away the teen’s hormone pills and feels awkward being out in public with her child.

          The teen, who goes by the name Arianna, says she is hurt by her mother’s behavior, especially because she says her mother used to be her only friend. She says her parents still don’t support her and have threatened to throw her out of their house in six months, when she turns 18.
