Claire is a stay-at-home mom with four small children, all under the age of 8. She says that even though she can afford to buy the things she wants, she can’t control the impulse to shoplift.
Claire claims her shopping addiction is so strong that she not only takes her children with her; she says she uses them to help her do it. “When the children are with me and I shoplift, what I do is – is use all the stuff that I have to bring with me anyway as a decoy. Diaper bags … baby blankets … baby seats.”

Claire admits she’s also left her kids unattended in the car.
“My fear with her reckless behavior is that at some point, our kids will get taken away from us,” says the children’s father, Chris. He’s admitted to bailing Claire out of jail every time she’s been arrested for shoplifting.
On Wednesday’s episode, Dr. Phil reveals a video diary which Claire made on her own, documenting the temptation to shoplift she says she feels whenever she goes into a store. Find out where to watch here.
