Peter Santenello, a video maker from San Francisco, California, says he left his hometown because he no longer felt safe.
 
“A few years back, Prop 47 came into law which, basically, made it a misdemeanor instead of a felony to steal up to $950,” Peter says.
 

Peter says that every day, people steal from the drugstore near where he lived, and employees couldn’t do anything about it. “If the employee says anything to the criminal or tries to confiscate the stolen goods, the employee will get fired,” Peter claims. “We’re now in a society where looting is incentivized.”
