What 18-Year-Old Told Her Brother In Last Conversation Before She Disappeared

          December 7, 2017

On October 25, 2015, Ebby Steppach had two phone calls with her older brother, Trevor. During the first conversation, the then 18-year-old told Trevor that she was outside his house – but when he went to look for her, she wasn’t there. During the second conversation, which lasted four minutes, Trevor says that he was trying to determine what was going on with his sister.

“She tells him that she’s in her car, she doesn’t know where she is and that she’s messed up,” says Michael, Trevor and Ebby’s stepfather. Michael says that Trevor then called him to see if he could locate Ebby through an app on her cell phone, which he was unable to do.

Laurie, the siblings’ mom, adds that Trevor told her, “She wasn’t slurring her words but she did not know where she was.”
