Chad says his wife, Lindsay, overdosed twice while pregnant, then later was in a car crash with their infant son in the backseat while allegedly high on heroin. He says he filed an order of protection against Lindsay when she was in jail but allowed her to move back home once she served her time.

“Chad leads with his heart and not with his head,” says Chad’s mother, Molly, who along with his sister, Megan, says, she believes Lindsay is still using drugs.

Continuing, Molly says, “In Chad’s mind, I think he’s trying to save Lindsay, but in the process, he’s losing himself.”

“There’s a codependent version of Chad that’s getting in the way of his best self,” he says.

“’Best self’ starts with being honest with yourself,” adds Dr. Phil, “Because you can’t change it if you don’t tell yourself the truth.”
