Jenni says she was shocked to learn that at 19, she had the liver disease nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, known as NASH. The disease, which occurs when fat accumulates in the liver and the buildup causes cell damage, inflammation, and scarring of the liver, or cirrhosis, is usually found in people more than twice her age.

On Friday’s episode of Dr. Phil, Dr. Phil is joined by Jenni and Dr. Freda Lewis-Hall, Pfizer’s Senior Medical Advisor, to discuss the potentially life-threatening disease. Learn what causes it, risk factors and potential treatment options.
