When Ann, became sick, her granddaughter, Ashley, decided to move “Nanna” in with her young family. Now Ashley, – who had previously lost 70 lbs., says Nanna’s home cooking is making it hard to keep the weight off.

Ashley says she struggled to lose weight after the birth of her first child, and at one point got up to 240 lbs. By 2015, she says she’d got down to 169 lbs., but now weighs 177. “I blame my Nanna for why I gained weight this time around – I’m about to kick her out!” she jokes.

“Ashley loves what I cook and she eats it. I’m not the one making her fat – she is,” says Nanna Ann who boasts, “I make delicious Southern comfort food.”

With items like fried chicken, grits, blueberry cobbler, and Nanna’s “famous” ‘tater salad on the menu, Ashley admits she does love her grandmother’s cooking – she’s just looking for a healthier way to eat.
