          November 8, 2017

DJ’s parents, Marla and David, say they had to put him out of the house after they claim he started hearing voices and getting into physical altercations with family members. They claim he’s violent, delusional, and a danger to himself and others.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Chaos in your life?

Marla says she first saw the shift in her son’s behaviors about three years ago when he was away at college. She also claims he once spent time as an inpatient in a rehab facility battling drug addiction.

DJ, who acknowledges experimenting with drugs in the past, claims they helped him realize his creative “genius.” Now the 28-year-old claims he’s a fashion designer, comedian, and successful record producer who works closely with artists like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Drake.

Explaining how drug use can have a residual impact on the brain, Dr. Phil refers DJ to the dual diagnoses and treatment program at Creative Care for evaluation. “I think you need to have yourself checked out neurologically,” he says.

DJ Objects, telling Dr. Phil he’s wrong. “You need to acknowledge the truth, Dr. Phil and you know I don’t need to do that,” he says.

Does Dr. Phil convince DJ to change his mind? This episode airs Thursday.
