Why A Woman Says She’s Angry With Ex-Husband Over His ‘Lack Of Parenting’

          May 3, 2017

Darbi’s family says she became a victim of sex trafficking when she ran away from home at age 15. She was rescued and returned to her mother, Janice’s, care, but a year later, disappeared again.

Janice and her ex-husband, Wayne each say they blame the other for Darbi’s disappearance, her ongoing behavioral and mental health issues.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Accusations causing a rift in your relationship?

“I have a hard time with the sex and drug use. I choose not to know all the details,” admits Wayne, who says he blames Janice for exposing Darbi to drugs, sex, pornography and “a lesbian environment.” Wayne says he knows Darbi has been diagnosed with a mental health issues but says he doesn’t really know what she has.

“I feel angry because it’s such an exhausting process. It’s Wayne’s lack of parenting that forced me to make decisions I wouldn’t normally make,” says Janice. She’s blaming Wayne for being an absentee dad.

Darbi’s aunt, Camille, says it’s time Wayne and Janice stopped feuding and started working together to find their missing child.

Does the former couple finally agree to come together to learn new ways to effectively care for and co-parent both Darbi and her siblings? And when she’s found, who will be there to help Darbi?
