“When things happen to people and they’ve been molested, have been violated, it can very definitely leave very deep wounds that folks just don’t know how to deal with sometimes, particularly when it happens at a young age,” Dr. Phil says in speaking with Taylor Murphy, a former FDNY fireman who says he was molested as a child and it influenced his choice of romantic partners.
TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: At your final breaking point?
“That’s not something that you just live with and hope it fades because it will seem to fade for a while and then it will come back up,” Dr. Phil continues. “It’s important to heal those wounds so they don’t affect you in other relationships, in self-worth, self-esteem, in other categories of your life.”
