Angela says she fears every day that her daughter, Jordan, is going to die of anorexia. She says the 23-year-old, who weighs 75 pounds, has an enlarged heart and has been hospitalized or rushed to the ER 20 times in the last two years. Angela and her husband, Bob, say they believe they’ve done everything they can to help Jordan, including spending $100,000 sending her to treatment facilities and therapists.

However, Angela admits that she may be enabling her daughter.

“She wants this food; she wants this treatment center,” Angela says. “I go to the grocery store with her, like, every day just to get certain foods that she wants so that she will eat.”

“But you’ve recognized before now that it’s not working,” Dr. Phil says. “So why do you keep doing it?”

“Because she’s my daughter. I don't want her to die,” Angela responds.

In the video above, Angela also admits to Dr. Phil that she parents out of guilt – and Dr. Phil points out how that is to make herself feel better rather than helping her daughter.
