Nina says that her 15-year-old daughter, Nicolette, is extravagant, spoiled and bratty. She admits that she has spoiled the teen her entire life, giving her thousands of dollars a month in allowance, taking her on extravagant vacations, sending her to the best schools and paying for personal trainers.

So why does Nina say she gives her daughter everything and anything she wants.

“I still feel guilty about being a single mom, working six days a week not being at home with her,” Nina tells Dr. Phil on Friday’s episode.

“How does that make sense? ‘I feel guilty for not being there, so I think I will cripple her, compromise her values, make her feel like she has no self-worth without material goods,' and that makes you feel better,” Dr. Phil says to Nina. “What you’re doing with her is to make you feel better because you’re parenting from guilt.”
