Why Rebecca Zahau’s Family Says They Chose To Exhume Her Body For A Second Autopsy

          VIDEO

          May 8, 2018

Shortly after Rebecca Zahau’s naked body was found dead, hanging from a balcony at her boyfriend’s California mansion, police ruled her death a suicide, claiming the 32-year-old was distraught over the serious injuries, including brain damage, that her boyfriend’s son suffered while in her care just days prior.

Zahau’s family, however, insists there is no way she would have taken her own life. They claim she was murdered by her boyfriend’s brother, Adam Shacknai, who found her body.

Three months after she died, Zahau’s family decided to exhume her body and perform a second autopsy – hoping new evidence would prove their theory.

In the video above, see what was revealed during the second autopsy. Does Dr. Cryil Wecht, a well-known forensic pathologist who performed the second autopsy, believe there is a reason for police to re-open the case? And on Tuesday, Dr. Phil sits down for an exclusive interview with Zahau’s family who shares details from the trial for the first time since Adam Shacknai was found civilly liable for Zahau’s death. Check here to see where you can watch.

Adam Shacknai maintains that he is innocent of any wrongdoing and did not kill Rebecca Zahau.
