“We go out, have a good time and then we go eat junk after,” Angie says.

The single moms want to lose weight once and for all in time for their upcoming 50th birthdays and turn to Dr. Phil for help reaching their goals.

“There’s all this interesting new research out there about our guts and our gut microbiome and our gut bacteria,” Dr. Stork says, adding that humans have 100 trillion bacteria living in the gut. “You two ladies have been feeding your gut all the wrong foods. If you switch it up, what’s amazing is these 100 trillion bacteria all of a sudden will do amazing things for your waist, for your overall health.”

Dr. Stork says Angie and Kathie should make some simple swaps to their diet. “It doesn’t have to mean give up all the fun foods out there. It’s swapping ingredients,” he says.

“The key is learning about how you can cheat without sabotaging your health and your waistline,” Dr. Stork says. “The book talks about how to feed your gut, feel full but actually lose weight in the process.”

On Wednesday’s episode, hear from other guests who say they have changed their lives using Dr. Stork's book, The Lose Your Belly Diet. Check here to see where you can watch.
