Holly says when she was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis in 2012, she started taking opioids. She still takes them today, and she says that although she is prescribed three pills a day, she takes eight.

“I would go to the E.R., and I would act like I was having the worst stomach pain just so they would give me hydrocodone,” Holly says. “My addiction has become so bad that I have to go to other states to get medicine.”
