Woman Says After Sister Was Killed, ‘The Whole Town Immediately Turned Against Me’

          VIDEO

          April 9, 2018

Fifteen-year-old Reesa was murdered on June 15, 1984, and her younger sister, Jodie, who was 13 at the time, says she immediately became a prime suspect. She says not only did the police interrogate her multiple times, but the townspeople started gossiping about her – accusing her of killing her only sibling — and haven’t stopped.

TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Are you involved in a story that has made the headlines?

“The whole town immediately turned against me,” Jodie claims. “Most of my friends could no longer really have anything to do with me; they were either afraid of me, or their parents were afraid of me.”

Jodie says that even her mom questioned her. “She would say things like, ‘Jodie, are you sure there’s nothing you want to tell me? You can tell me anything. I’ll still love you no matter what,’” Jodie claims. “She would just hint around that she wanted me to confess something, but I had nothing to confess.”

It’s been 34 years since Reesa’s death – which remains a cold case – and Jodie says people are still accusing her of the murder. Jodie adamantly denies any involvement in her sister’s death.

Jodie speaks out publicly for the first time on Monday’s episode of Dr. Phil. She says she wants to clear her name once and for all. Is she willing to take a polygraph exam? And, what will the results reveal? Check here to see where you can watch.
