Ashleigh says she’s financially dependent on her parents, Kristin and Owen because it’s been almost two years since she’s worked. “No matter what I did I couldn’t really hold down a job because of my eating disorder
or because of my addiction – or because of trauma,” says the 28-year-old. TELL DR. PHIL YOUR STORY: Life in crisis?
Kristin admits she and Owen help Ashleigh with rent and utilities, her car – and insurance – while Ashleigh spends her money on other things.
But sister-in-law, Krysti says Kristin is allowing Ashleigh to be “a manipulative mooch.”
“Ashleigh says her past trauma makes her so sad that she has to spend money to make herself feel better. She gets acrylic nails and fake eyelashes.”
When Krysti proclaims “Everything that Ashleigh owns is from Victoria’s Secret – that doesn’t sound like a rape victim to me,” how does Dr. Phil respond? And why does Krysti say she’s angry
that Ashleigh has the support of her family? This episode airs Monday.
