Woman Says Sister Is Being Scammed By Online Boyfriend Whom She’s Never Met And Has Sent Thousands
Tammy says for the last two years, her sister, Terri, has been in a relationship with a man named Ricardo, whom she met on Facebook Messenger. However, Tammy says that Terri’s never met Ricardo in person because he claims he is in Canada working and that every time he says he’s returning to the U.S., there’s an excuse why he can’t come back.
“Ricardo does tell my sister, Terri, that he’s in love with her, he wants to marry her, he wants to share his millions with her, and Terri believes it,” Tammy says, adding that Terri has sent this person between $50,000 and $75,000. “It makes me sick to my stomach and sad. I know that Ricardo is a scammer, because why would a millionaire ask somebody for money?”
On Tuesday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “Invested in Love or Just Another Scam?” hear what Terri says about her relationship with Ricardo. Who is Ricardo, and where is Terri’s money? Find out on Wednesday’s episode, “Romance Scams, Fraudsters, and Their Victims.” Plus, hear a message for Terry, and Dr. Phil shares a manual written to teach people how to use romance scams to swindle women.
