Kari and her mom, Michele, say they fear that Kari’s sister, Amanda, is going to die if she doesn’t stop drinking.

“My sister is drinking herself to death,’ Kari says.

“Amanda’s addiction is so bad that if she doesn’t stop drinking, she’s probably going to die,” Michele says of her daughter. “She’s 31 years old, and she has a pacemaker defibrillator because she can’t stop drinking.”

The women say Amanda was a beautiful model who traveled the world and graced the covers of top fashion magazines, had access to the trendiest clubs and dated major league baseball players. But they say after her fiancé was killed in Afghanistan, she turned to drinking and has become a severe alcoholic.

The women say that even though Amanda has died twice and now lives with a pacemaker, she continues to drink – and her drinking is getting worse.

“If my sister doesn’t get help, I know that we will be planning her funeral,” Kari says.
