“When I say it’s a disease, they don’t want to hear it, they’re like, ‘No it’s not – it’s a choice,’” says Lindsay, adding, “They are constantly criticizing me, judging me. They don’t understand what I’m going through at all.”

Lindsay spent time in jail after a car accident where she was allegedly high while driving with her then 8-month-old son in the back seat. She says she realized then that “Relapse is not an option for me anymore.”

Chad says he refuses to give up on Lindsay, “Because she is the love of my life.”

In the video above, he says that when Lindsay came home after being in jail, he set up some guidelines for her to follow, including that “She has to be 100% sober.”
