Amani says she conceived her soon-to-be 4-year-old daughter with the help of Kyle, a self-proclaimed “fertility expert” and private donor who claims he has fathered upward of 40 children. “I’m very grateful for him and the service he provided,” she says. “I couldn’t even begin to imagine my life without my daughter.”

Amani’s husband, Jalen, who has been in the child’s life since she was around 6-months old, says the fact that he is not her biological father doesn’t bother him. He says, “She’s a daddy’s girl, and so I look at her as such.”

Amani says she has kept in touch with Kyle over the years and wants her daughter to meet him and understand his role in bringing her into the world. “It’s going to happen sooner or later, and I didn’t plan on lying to her as she got older,” says Amani.

Kyle says he stays connected with many of the women and couples that he has helped to start families and that one of his favorite parts about being a donor is getting to watch the kids grow up.
