Angela, a food writer, says food is being culturally appropriated, people are profiting, and it needs to stop.

“When it comes to food, it’s not necessarily that people of another culture can’t enjoy other people’s cuisines. That’s not the point I’m making in terms of cultural appropriation,” Angela explains on Friday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “Appropriation Nation: Has it Gone Too Far?” “What I’m saying is the idea of profiting off of that.”

In the video above, Angela uses the example of white TikTok creators taking a traditional Mexican drink, giving it a new name, and profiting from it -- and explains why she has a problem with that.

On Friday’s episode, hear from a woman who says she received death threats for wearing a dress from another culture. And, a man claims that people offended by cultural appropriation are usually people who aren’t even from the culture being appropriated. Check local listings to see where you can watch.
