Young Man Can’t See, Speak, Walk After Suffering Severe Brain Damage At Fraternity Hazing Event
Danny Santulli was a freshman at the University of Missouri in the fall of 2021 when he pledged a fraternity. One night during a hazing event, he was blindfolded, given a bottle of vodka, and told to drink the entire bottle, according to his parents, Tom and Mary Pat.
“I believe that the bottle was taped to his hand,” Mary Pat says. “He put the bottle down probably four times, and his pledge dad would give it back to him.”
Mary Pat and Tom say, later that night, they got a call from an Emergency Room doctor. In their first national interview, hear what the parents say their son endured that evening and see the surveillance video. And, the family gives a glimpse into the aftermath of his tragic incident and what life is like now for Danny, a once vibrant young man with his whole life ahead of him.
As National Hazing Prevention Week begins, Dr. Phil shares stories that could save a life on Tuesday’s episode, “Horror Hazing: Left Blind and Paralyzed.” And on Wednesday, “Deadly Brotherhood: The Fight to Stop College Hazing,” hear from a family who lost their son to alcohol poisoning after a fraternity initiation event.
